Henry's different faces

Though hard to catch on camera, Henry has started to smile and imitate faces that we make at him. If we stick out our tongue, he sticks his out and smiles....it is the cutest thing! He is beginning to form a personality with little faces, noises, and gestures. He is also holding his head up for long periods of time while gazing at the lights or ceiling fans. Mom and Henry had a nice and relaxing Saturday while Dad was at business school. Henry also got a special visit from Missy :)

Eat, Play, Sleep (repeat)

Henry is 4 weeks old today and is a growing boy! He still has a head full of brown hair that stands straight up, and he is getting stronger by the day. He manages to get his arms out of the tightest swaddle, and loves to play on his activity gym. He had his first experience at a restaurant, and Mom and Dad got to have a margarita :) Time is already flying by!

Henry is 3 weeks old!

It has been a busy 3 weeks for baby Henry. We had our first pediatrician visit, and the little guy seems to be very healthy and is putting on weight! Thank you Kaki for attending.....Mom likes to "overpack" the diaper bag, and wouldn't have been able to get there without her help!

Henry got to meet his Aunt Kristen, Uncle Scott, and 2 cousins, Larsen and Camille. Larsen and Camille are so excited to teach little Henry lots of things! He also got his first opportunity to pose with his Dad and his Big Daddy...three generations of HCG's! T.M. came to stay with us for 5 days and we don't know what we would have done without her. She cooked meal after meal, and played with Henry for hours on end. Mom and Dad even got to go on a date night while she watched him! Thank you so much, T.M.! Aunt Megen came over for a visit and fed Henry (and Mom) lunch. He likes sleeping on her shoulder :)

Henry got to watch his first 2 LSU games with Dad and was extremely excited the Tigers dominated both opponents. He got a little fussy when Virginia Tech scored their only touchdown, but Dad explained that it was against LSU's third string defense, and Henry then calmed down. :) We went over to Kaki and Papa T's for Papa T's birthday, and although they were not victorious, Henry was in full support of the Frogs in his TCU gear! This was extremely brave of little Henry, given that the entire house was filled with Longhorn fans! He got a chance to visit with Aunt Meg, Uncle Troy, Uncle Alex, and his cousin Wyatt too....

Bath time was quite an adventure. The little guy actually likes the warm water until it gets on his head. Both Mom and Dad seem to get more water on them than Henry during this process. We have had lots of tummy time, and he is in love with his bouncy seat. He also loves the theme song from Rudy, which Dad plays for him while he is feeding.

Henry Has Arrived!

After 40 weeks (and one day) of pregnancy, 12 hours of labor, and at least 9 bottles of champagne, little Henry has graced the world with his presence. He weighed 8 lbs 14 oz at birth, and was 21 1/4 inches in length. Though his mom and dad are certainly biased, they firmly believe that he is the most beautiful baby boy ever born. He has sadly inherited his father's hairy genes, but he fortunately makes up for it with his mother's dimples (two on each cheek!). It's safe to say that his mom and dad have never before loved anything so deeply.

Little Henry's first few days have been blessed with an overflow of love from grandparents, aunts, uncles and even a few cousins! He did his very best to smile for the camera, but far too often the photographers captured him during his favorite time....the "milk drunk" deep sleep.

Henry and Dad took their first walk on Saturday evening, with Drake along for protection and support. Though he didn't say much, Henry's reaction to his surroundings clearly indicated that he's a fan of the neighborhood. He had a particular fondness for the two houses displaying LSU flags!

Henry's remarkable journey has only just begun, and he looks forward to sharing countless pictures and stories with the close friends and family he's so very lucky to have in his life.

Until next time....
